Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using rotos.com (“rotos”, “the Service”), you (“you”, “User”) agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What rotos is

rotos is a software-as-a-service tool that helps you scan trading-card images, identify them using eBay's image search, generate pricing comps, and publish listings to your own eBay seller account through eBay's official APIs. rotos is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by eBay Inc.

3. Eligibility and account

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must own and have legitimate authority over the eBay seller account you connect to rotos.
  • You must provide a valid email address and keep your account credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Your responsibilities

rotos automates parts of the listing process but you remain fully responsible for the content and accuracy of every listing you publish. Specifically you agree:

  • You own the items being listed, or have lawful authority to sell them.
  • You will review every listing before publishing — titles, prices, and descriptions are AI-and-search-assisted and may need correction.
  • You will comply with eBay's User Agreement, all eBay listing policies, and all applicable laws.
  • You will not list counterfeit, stolen, prohibited, or restricted items.
  • You will not use rotos to create spam, mass-duplicate listings, or otherwise abuse eBay's marketplace.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service.
  • Resell or sublicense access to your rotos account.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage controls, or billing.
  • Upload content that infringes intellectual property, contains malware, or violates third-party rights.
  • Use the Service to harass, defraud, or impersonate any person or business.

Violation may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund.

6. Subscriptions and billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe.
  • Each plan includes a monthly allotment of scan credits. Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over.
  • You may cancel anytime from the Stripe billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — partial-month refunds are not issued.
  • Prices may change. We will notify active subscribers by email at least 14 days before any price change.
  • Failed payments may result in suspended access. You can resume by updating payment in the Stripe portal.

7. eBay account connection

Connecting an eBay seller account is optional but required to publish listings. When you connect, you authorize rotos to call eBay APIs on your behalf — read inventory locations and business policies, create and publish listings, and read sales/comp data. You can disconnect at any time from the dashboard, which revokes our token immediately.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of all card images and listing content you upload (“Your Content”). You grant rotos a limited license to host, process, and transmit Your Content for the sole purpose of running the Service for you — including sending it to eBay's APIs to identify and list your cards. We will not use Your Content for any other purpose, will not share it with third parties (other than the providers listed in our Privacy Policy), and will delete it on request.

9. Service availability

rotos is offered as-is with no uptime guarantee. We may schedule maintenance, deploy updates, change features, or temporarily suspend the Service for any reason. eBay's APIs are operated by eBay and may be unavailable, rate-limited, or modified at eBay's discretion — rotos is not responsible for eBay outages.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. ROTOS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT CARD IDENTIFICATIONS, COMP PRICES, OR PUBLISHED LISTINGS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR ERROR-FREE. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING EVERY LISTING BEFORE IT IS PUBLISHED.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROTOS AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID ROTOS IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless rotos and its operators from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from (a) Your Content, (b) your listings on eBay, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any third-party right or law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, eBay's policies, or applicable law. On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days in advance by email to active subscribers and via the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any dispute arising from the Service will be resolved in the courts located in the operator's jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to choose another forum.
